Role overview:

We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with in-depth experience in Life Sciences and Project Portfolio Management (PPM) to support our business development and delivery teams. The SME will play a strategic role in driving client engagements by understanding their challenges and designing tailored solutions around decision analysis, portfolio strategy, resource planning, and process optimization. 
This role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, contributing to solution development, and ensuring alignment of services with industry best practices and client-specific goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Sales and Business Development teams to participate in client meetings and gather detailed business requirements.
  • Conduct Assessments to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities across current project and portfolio processes.
  • Facilitate and lead informed decision-making for PPM prioritization.
  • Develop a PPM strategy and roadmaps aligned with the client’s needs.  
  • Advise on resource management and efficient resource allocation and capacity planning strategies.
  • Assist in demand planning, scenario modeling, and forecasting project outcomes.
  • Support clients budget forecasting, estimation and financial planning.
  • Define long-term PPM strategies aligned with client requirements.
  • Evaluate and improve existing PPM processes for enhanced maturity and compliance.
  • Help the Pre-sales and Marketing team to create high-quality documents, presentations, and reports to support business discussions.
  • Act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure alignment of solutions with client expectations.
  • Collaborate with solution architects and delivery teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory trends, industry standards, and technological advancements impacting the Life Sciences domain.

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience in decision support, strategic planning, and large-scale portfolio or program oversight.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard PPM tools (e.g., Planisware, Primavera, Project Online, Clarity PPM) and methodologies (Stage-Gate, Agile, Waterfall).
  • Experience in pre-sales, consulting, or solutioning roles involving client interactions and strategy development.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., GxP, FDA, EMA compliance) and best practices in Life Sciences R&D and operations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Prior experience in top consulting firms or Life Sciences-focused IT solution providers.
  • Strong experience in enterprise-level PPM platforms and integrations with ERP or clinical systems.
  • MBA or advanced degree in Life Sciences or a related field is a plus
