Narrowing the right PPM tool is an important step towards building a future-ready PPM system; however, for the tool to give the desired return on investment, two crucial aspects needed to be considered:

  1. Optimize the tool to best fit the organization’s business needs and make sure to improve system usability.
  2. Apply PPM best practices in and around the PPM tool for maximum ROI and improved business insights.

Similar was a Biotechnology organization’s needs when they adopted a leading PPM tool in the market. The tool was robust and packed with rich PPM features to transform their PPM processed efficiency and business agility. However, they could not fully utilize the tool’s potential.

They were looking for a consulting firm well versed in PPM tools and PPM best practices to guide them.

Our Solution

Led by a team of industry PPM veterans and PPM tool experts, team i2e conducted a ‘Level Zero Assessment’ where they analyzed current PPM tool and business practices and recommended process and platform optimizations to improve system usability and PPM business agility.

Our PPM tool experts also worked collaboratively with the client stakeholders to ensure the recommendations are aligned with project objectives and business needs.

  • Advised optimal project structure with templates/ libraries to support flexibility in project design.
  • Analyzed current parametric resourcing approach: Tested and recommended improvements.
  • Evaluated and recommended system and reporting performance and stability.
  • Enable scalable, RBS (Resource Breakdown Structure)- and WBS (Work Breakdown Structure)-based visualizations of EAC, capacity, and portfolio metrics, support trend analysis over time, and improve decision-making for PMO and leadership.
  • Advised and implemented system integrations in and out of the PPM tool to eliminate data silos and design optimal updates to external reporting.
  • Implement multiple quality checks to enable early detection of issues, enforce standardized data governance, reduce manual validation effort, and ensure accurate, trustworthy data for PMO reporting and leadership insights.
