Now a days employees work across multiple locations, hours and devices; the workforce is no longer confined to a single office environment. As these diversified workplaces emerge, the need for team-based and collaborative, digitally connected work environments become critical to knowledge sharing, retention and access.
Inadequate data/information collection systems can compromise the availability of accurate data for tactical decision-making. Knowledge management is the key to maintain an agile, productive and innovative working environment. Given the correlation between knowledge, efficiency and productivity, it's critical that organizations manage their knowledge effectively. Our client’s existing system was inept to manage huge forecasting data and its calculation for Oncology department. It was difficult to maintain complex forecast data in excel due to multiple users & versions. There was an immediate need for data curation system to be integrated with the active research phase (i.e., as a backup and collaboration solution).
The entire decision making process is based on the outcome of forecasting, which is a knowledge/data intensive activity. Knowledge management plays a major role in the planning phase of a project. Based on the available information, forecasters guide decision makers in making complex decisions in the business world that is characterized by increased risks and uncertainty. If the forecasting is flawed, the project falls under considerable risk. The existing system lacked the workflows required for the creation, management, and preservation of research data for the Oncology department. Our client was in great need for a more effective data collection tool that could support the volume of data generated and could provide appropriate calculation, privacy and access controls.
Implementation of the Knowledge Management tool promoted transparency in research and improved research methodologies for concerned teams of Doctors and Scientists. For example, analysis of research findings shared via Knowledge Management tool could identify over studied fields where continued research has diminishing returns, thus helping individuals make better decisions about research investment. Aggregated research data could make such efficiencies clear. Also, the form and quantity of data/information available across a single tool could make possible significant advancement in addressing various challenges.

Takes advantage of existing expertise by creating centralized data repository
Now, every Document could be digitally signed but print and download access was given only to dedicated admin users. Even if those admin users download and then send it to any other user, a security key is asked to other user thereby enhancing the security of the documents.
Ensures that all relevant information and resources can be accessed easily
